For the first "Fashion Friday" post, even when most of the students were quite shy in front of the camera, Trojans were able to showcase their diversity in terms of style. However, Street Style photos and OOTD's require a little amount of skill in order to pull them off effectively. Since we'll be doing more of these, I'll do my best to share a few tips in taking these kinds of photos. So the next time TGS spots you, you'll know how to strike a pose.
1. Find Your light - don't let the camera work double time by taking photos in dimly lit areas. Maximize the spots where sunlight or natural light is available. It will make the photo sharper and your skin tone richer.
2. Find Your Angle - at this day and age, where every human being knows how to take a selfie, it is important to know your angle. Look away or look straight to the camera, that's your call. Street style photos are usually done quickly and with very minimal direction from the photographer so it is always advisable to be ready and prepared when you're spotted.
3. Know Your Assets - this doesn't just refer to your God-given physical qualities like your dimples or towering height but it also means that you should know which piece in your outfit should be focused on.
4. Have Fun - enjoy dressing up and make sure to be spotted. Believe me, it will help improve your mood and self-esteem. If you feel good about yourself, others will feel that and will learn to look at you positively. Plus it's a good breather from all the academic stress and pressure.
Make sure you get spotted. The TGS team is just around every bend. If you prefer to take your own photos, don't forget to use the hashtag #trojansgotstyle so it can be included in future posts.
