IG Gallery - Week 2

This week, amidst the examination season, Trojans seemed to feel a sudden burst of nostalgia from the summer and the season of sand and flip flops. Aside from the usual sports-themed posts, IG was swamped with sunnies, shorts and a whole lot of stripes. Check these out.

Special shoutout to this guy who rocked shorts and leg support on a Friday. (Get well soon!)

Keep posting!

Fashion Friday - Aug 8

For the first "Fashion Friday" post, even when most of the students were quite shy in front of the camera, Trojans were able to showcase their diversity in terms of style. However, Street Style photos and OOTD's require a little amount of skill in order to pull them off effectively. Since we'll be doing more of these, I'll do my best to share a few tips in taking these kinds of photos. So the next time TGS spots you, you'll know how to strike a pose.

1. Find Your light - don't let the camera work double time by taking photos in dimly lit areas. Maximize the spots where sunlight or natural light is available. It will make the photo sharper and your skin tone richer.

2. Find Your Angle - at this day and age, where every human being knows how to take a selfie, it is important to know your angle. Look away or look straight to the camera, that's your call. Street style photos are usually done quickly and with very minimal direction from the photographer so it is always advisable to be ready and prepared when you're spotted.

3. Know Your Assets - this doesn't just refer to your God-given physical qualities like your dimples or towering height but it also means that you should know which piece in your outfit should be focused on.

4. Have Fun - enjoy dressing up and make sure to be spotted. Believe me, it will help improve your mood and self-esteem. If you feel good about yourself, others will feel that and will learn to look at you positively. Plus it's a good breather from all the academic stress and pressure.

Make sure you get spotted. The TGS team is just around every bend. If you prefer to take your own photos, don't forget to use the hashtag #trojansgotstyle so it can be included in future posts.

'til next Fashion Friday.

School Shopping (University Fair Day 1)

Last July 25, the seniors had their first University Fair and they were instructed beforehand to be in business casual or semi-formal attire. This can somehow show the participating colleges and universities that Lourdesians know how to look sharp and dress themselves up especially in such occasions. Here are some of the trends sported in the said event.

Safe and Sound - Some students played it safe with neutrals - tucked white tops paired with dark denims or light chinos. Outfits were spiced up by dark leathers and smiles of excitement and enthusiasm because of the ongoing event.

The Godfather - A bolder group on the other hand, opted to go for the more formal look. They decided to sharpen their outfits with dark suits which are not easy to pull off. This gives a more sophisticated and refined impression  and for one reason or the other, is a surefire headturner. It sends out a message that you take things seriously and you mean business.

(I wonder who owns this suit. Nice one, Lance!)

Prepped Up - Some kept it simple yet still edgy by sporting a preppy look through layering and playing with neutral and earth colors. Bow ties and the classic necktie usually complete this look.

During the second day of the same event, August 22, TGS will definitely be in the lookout for more dappers. Stay tuned for more posts.
